“Story is about eternal, universal forms.” – Robert McKee
Writing has always been about delivering information. It’s a vehicle for ideas and concepts to travel from one place to the next. As a journalist, I’m piloting that vehicle. There’s an unspoken agreement between myself and the reader that what I write is for the sake of safely transporting the ideas to them. Some, more complex ideas require more complex vehicles in order to be transported.
Additionally, I believe everyone has a story to be told. Some stories, too, are more complex than others, and require a more complex vehicle to transported. My goal, then, is pilot those vehicles; to find the tools that I need and tell great stories in simple, effective ways, and deliver concepts to readers in a manner they can digest.
